Brandywine, Black Krim, Golden Delicious, Heirloom Eggplant and Peppers |
I woke up yesterday to an almost 50 degree morning. It has been such a long winter, (and it's not over yet) I had forgotten what it feels like to be warm! This warm weather has brought out the garden faeries in my home, they beat me into submission and look what they made me do. I felt compelled to start some seedlings for my new back, (and front yard) garden. The rich dark smell of the soil and dirt under my fingernails just made me feel like I could take on this project with positive energy and confidence.
Big farm dreams you know, start small...grow.
This is the first tray of seeds I have ever started in my life. I was a lazy gardener in the past and let others do this work for me. No longer will I be a lazy gardener! This venture may succeed or it may fail, only time will tell. But, it feels like delicious food is in my future. Next weekend I will plant another tray with an array of tasty morsels to feed the spousal unit and a few family members that may stop by.
What I see here is the newest addition to my list of things I have to do to survive, like dance, yoga, and dogs! In 10 to 15 days I am hoping to see little sprouts that have been nurtured and loved! Wish me luck~
